We’d like to share another project to find the longest lines of sight on the planet: pinnacle-points.com/longest-lines-of-sight

It’s made by Jamie Breault and takes a notable different approach to us. Here’s the description from the website:

Two points have line of sight if light can travel from one to the other unobstructed with sufficient contrast for visibility under clear atmospheric conditions. Many physical phenomena are modelled including Earth’s curvature, local topography, atmospheric refraction, atmospheric scattering, and partial irradiation. Lines of sight are only considered between summits with at least 300 m of prominence. This map shows 1104 ground-to-ground lines of sight that are over 300 km long. It is limited to lines of sight that are the longest for both summits involved.
